Thank You

The two short and simple words “˜thank you’ are frequently used but somehow their true essence is not understood and their real impact on our lives is not fully realised. This act of gratitude is not only encompassed as a practice of etiquette and good manners but actually goes far beyond that. It’s more than a discipline, it’s a lifestyle.

Expressing gratitude doesn’t necessarily have to be grandiose. Even small gestures are enough and at times can be more meaningful and make the greatest impact, especially when shown with genuineness and sincerity. Being appreciated, valued and respected is important to everyone so choose to practice gratitude every day and we will certainly improve all our relationships whether professional or personal.

While saying the phrase “˜thank you’ means a lot to the people we say it to, at the same time, it’s also incredibly rewarding. We get to unlock a lot of benefits such as improved health, higher confidence levels, more patience and motivation – overall, a positive mindset. Aside from acknowledging others, we also need to pay attention to ourselves. One way to do this is by means of self-affirmation. Be kind to yourself as much as you are to others. Give yourself a pat on the back for all the hard work and goals you have achieved.

“Make it a habit to tell people thank you. To express your appreciation, sincerely and without the expectation of anything in return. Truly appreciate those around you, and you’ll soon find many others around you. Truly appreciate life, and you’ll find that you have more of it.”

“• Ralph Marston

“Gratitude is the healthiest of all human emotions. The more you express gratitude for what you have, the more likely you will have even more to express gratitude for.”

“• Zig Ziglar

“Everyone wants to be appreciated, so if you appreciate someone, don’t keep it a secret.”

“• Mary Kay Ash

“Develop an attitude of gratitude, and give thanks for everything that happens to you, knowing that every step forward is a step toward achieving something bigger and better than your current situation.”

“• Brian Tracy

“Choosing to be positive and having a grateful attitude is going to determine how you’re going to live your life.”

“• Joel Osteen
