Support Your Aspirations

We are all in pursuit of aspirations. From a young age, we all have that big dream we hope to successfully achieve. These high ambitions constantly push us to aim higher and give us the drive to become better in everything we do. They put us on a mission to reach for the stars.

“Do not lose hold of your dreams or aspirations. For if you do, you may still exist but you have ceased to live.”

“• Henry David Thoreau

Each of us is treading unique journeys so we respond to a combination of drives and motivations differently. We all have totally different views of success and that may depend on age, interests, and current circumstances. But no matter how different we live life, this remains for sure – aspirations are always present and will always be an ongoing part of the process no matter what.

“Achievement is largely the product of steadily raising one’s level of aspiration and expectation.”

“• Jack Nicklaus

The development of aspirations has stages. If your personal or career aspirations are not clear yet, it’s good to start with
discovering your true calling. Examine yourself. Discern. What are your inner convictions? Try to explore and discern your core. When you have made your intentions clear and established achievable and measurable goals, then you are ready to succeed!

Take time to reflect. Allocate about 10 to 15 minutes a day to take a step back and see the big picture. Put all your thoughts and experiences on paper. Keeping a journal can help you establish aspirations and strengthen your desire to achieve them. The act of writing reinforces discipline and motivates you to stay focused and make profound changes in life.

“It takes a certain level of aspiration before one can take advantage of opportunities that are clearly offered.”

“• Michael Harrington

Maintain a positive attitude. There are times when life gets in the way and we face conflicting forces. Setbacks in life are normal but don’t let them drag you down, don’t be thrown off the path you’ve started. When you’ve already come a long way, remind yourself of all the hard work you’ve done and try your best to get back on track. Be mindful of the things that could happen along the way and that they may cause uncertainty but at the same time they certainly add depth and extra dimension to life.

“Never give up on what you really want to do. The person with big dreams is more powerful than one with all the facts.”

“• Albert Einstein
