How do you get things done each day? Are you able to reach all your goals with less time, effort and mistakes? If your answer is NO, perhaps you need to work on your productivity and efficiency while making sure that you are doing your tasks the right way.
Use the MIT solution
Focus on your MITs first thing in the morning. M.I.T. stands for Most Important Things. There should only be a maximum of 3 things on your list then out of the 3, select which one is the most important.
“If it’s your job to eat a frog, it’s best to do it first thing in the morning. And If it’s your job to eat two frogs, it’s best to eat the biggest one first.” “” Mark Twain
Here are some tips on how to develop the ability to identify and complete the most urgent and important task first:
- Set S.M.A.R.T.E.R. goals. SMARTER stands for specific, meaningful, achievable, relevant, and time-bound. Don’t push yourself too hard by setting impossible goals.
- Establish milestones to help you stay focused, empowered and on track.
- Create a weekly plan. It’s better to write everything down to make them real and more concrete.
- Make an assessment of your weekly plan to determine your daily MITs.
