Be Prepared for Anything

Prepared-July2019.png

The future is uncertain. You can never predict what will happen and you can never totally avoid unpleasant circumstances but it’s best practice to always be ready for whatever comes your way. Preparation can save you a lot of time and headache and you will feel confident that you can rise above all the possible struggles and trials that you will face.

You have to rely on your preparation. You got to really be passionate and try to prepare more than anyone else, and put yourself in a position to succeed, and when the moment comes you got to enjoy, relax, breathe and rely on your preparation so that you can perform and not be anxious or filled with doubt.“

Lord Baden-Powell, a soldier, educator, and prolific writer established the modern Scouting movement which is a service-minded and values-based program that prepares young people for life. We don’t have to become scouts to be ready for anything, but we can apply the same philosophy in life – Let’s properly equip ourselves to react quickly to an emergency and whatever challenges await us.

“Be Prepared… the meaning of the motto is that a scout must prepare himself by previous thinking out and practicing how to act on any accident or emergency so that he is never taken by surprise.”

There are so many ways to prepare for anything that’s likely to come in daily life such as economic downturns, layoffs or terminations, financial hardships, relationship problems, sickness, natural disasters, power outages, medical emergencies, accidents or loss of a loved one. While no one can be completely prepared for these things, we can still start to get our affairs in order. We can start thinking about Plan A to Z, and learn how to manage risks as best we could.

No matter how much we plan or prepare for something, we may encounter many things that we cannot control. When this happens, sometimes it’s best to just face the fact and accept that there is nothing we can do about it, so we have to move on and think of different ways to approach the situation. We can even try to improvise and innovate.

“Prevention is better than cure.”

Planning and preparation are absolutely essential but it’s also something that’s usually neglected.   We don’t know when disaster will strike. It takes a lot of self-discipline to prepare for contingency but it definitely pays off!

We shouldn’t just live for today; we should prepare for tomorrow.“
